Where have I been?

Hey folks for anyone who reads this blog there has been a pretty long radio silence. I am here to break that silence. I have been starting a new job and moving to a new area and it has taken me some time to get to grips with all the changes, Including finding a new 40k group. There appear to be some folks here in town that play and last night I just played a 6000 point game to try out against the new necron codex. Wow it was a doozy. Hoping to get some pics up of what happened. I've got a laundry list of items that i have been working to get finished.

Apocalypse of Umbral Void: The Battle of the Hive from Hell

Image
The marine/tau army featured Tau fire support with tanks and four Riptides in the back. The guard brought four Leman Russ tanks in the back. The marine contingent was several three man squads of grav armed bikers, melta armed Land Speeders and I think five? Drop podding dual-melta contempt or dreads. Also appearing was a land raider packed with 20 marines led by the dreaded primarch of the Emperors Children. Additionally, their team fielded an immobilized bane blade as a campaign bonus. The Necron/Ork/Mechanicum force was much more eclectic. Each general brought a Superheavy to the table just for the heck of it, so Ghazhkull's personal bane blade (containing of course a mob of Meganobz and the Big Boss Himself) and a Necron Transcendant C'tan. Beyond that it was a mess of transports, tanks, infantry and bikers.

"Make your target 60deg N 15'.22" and 45 deg W 37'.11", right over the Dark angel spaceport..." "Coordinates entered sir." "COOMMENCE PRIMARY IGNITION," belowed the commander a manic glee in his eye. The reported blast left him dazed but he watched onscreen as the gyrometeric display project the rockets course. Right on target. "The report came in from the aerial surveillence sir... target destroyed." The commander leered with glee... Campaign for Umbral Void: Week 5 Update

Image
The Fourth Week of the campaign has been Lost to the warp storms but the evidence sugggest a mighty brawl between the orks and necrons look place with the orks emerging vicotrious. In the fifth Week of the Campaign there were several interesting developments. Missle Attacks - Munitions stockpile of the 325th ICG, had gone unused for weeks and the directive from the leadership: clear the path of terringrad bridge. The Imperial Mercy and its firing team punched the coordinates but the missle first landed amongst their own troops south of the Bridge causing them to lose the Bastion in their control. The second missle agained missed the massive bridge sailing far to the northwest amonst the ruins of the Terringrad Hive and the Necrons fortified there. But the third missle found its mark, death marine forces were instantly vaporized but the reinforced adamantine bridge remained intact stubbornly persisting. The Vortex Missle platform Imperial Mercy and its evaporated targets. ...
