Battle of the wastes: Eldar vs. Cult of the ninth gate

In the bleak ruins of the wastes of Tooshnasha, the Craftworld of Yuula-lith are alerted by their rangers of a incursion near the river of Porfirus. They send their reaction force to deal with the deamonkin.

The layout

The eldar unleash their shooting destroying a unit of bloodcrushers, the guardians take up position behind the shield gen. the far right sees the waveserpent close on an objective to claim it.
on the bottom of T1 the demon kin sees the land raider immobilized in the river, while the replenshed bloodcrushers arrive from reserve on the their table edge.

The blood crushers assault the transport but can only glance it twice despite twelve attacks on the charge.

The waveserpent escapes the wrath of khorne while the wraithblades stalk the bloodcrushers. the second wave serpent unleashes a full volley on demon prince Gorvictus, but can only manage one wound.

Reserves arrive in the form of terminators and bloodletters, while Gorvictus prepares to eviserate the guardians bellowing blind rage.

terminator combi-meltas blast away at the waveserpent destroying it utterly.

Amongst the trembling guardians steps forth a lone figure, " I am Auth Raca, of the ancient line of Yuula-Lith, my fathers before me saw with sight beyond sight. We come to end the butchery of your master! Behold demon, I carry the Shard of Anaris and I shall make its sheath your fetid corpse!"

"Very well elf. You shall be the first sacrifice to Khorne!"

In the end the demon prince moving through terrain lowers his initiative and the psyker gains instant death rule slaying the demon outright!

the wraithblades round on the demons, benefitting from the protections of the eldar psykers. But the Eldar fail their charge.

The wraithgaurd disembark from the damaged wave serpent destroying the terminators, while the guardians shred the bloodletters.

The eldar hold the river. without losing a single defender.

The minions of Khorne spring their ambush on the wraithblades but the eldar or up to the task.

After saving up for 7 blood points due to the butcery at the river, Khorne is pleased and the possesed champion undergoes a dark apotheothis, bringing froth and new demon prince from the warp.

At the end of turn three the eldar control the river while the opposite flank is still contested, with both sides taking losses but the demons have difficulty with the toughness of the wraith constructs.

top of 4 the wraithgaurd stride forward and the power of the wraithcannons quickly sends the demon back to the warp.

with a turn where they claim 4 points by objectives the eldar, extend their lead, to 10-2.

In the End the battle prowess of the defenders of Yuula-Lith proved insurmountable, the demon prince Gorvictus returns to the nest of skulls that lay on the Adamantine coast. While the farseers of the Yuula-lith report back to Secra and expand their holdings.

Analysis: Tough game my opponent positioned well, while I need to consider some new ways to deal with the high toughness of the wraithguard and think a bit more strategically about how to deal with them. Very well deserved win for my opponent.
