Been putting a lot of work in on the table. I have been able to plaster over the hill and a couple other surfaces to give a rocky effect, once its painted.

I modified the shortest edge to make it more terraced. Notice the difference between the top pic and the one below.
Poured PVA and sand over the whole thing. Below you can see the sand covering the whole table.
Even with the sand adding an extra layer the hill is pretty big.
